Investigation of Factors Affecting Prognosis in Geriatric Patients with Head Injury

Objective: Head trauma is one of the most common causes emergency admission in elderly patients. The risk intracranial pathology increases after due to weakening bone structures, deterioration blood parameters, and use anticoagulants. This study aimed examine factors affecting mortality head geriatric Material Methods: Geriatric patients who were admitted department with between 01.01.2015 31.12.2015 underwent cranial computed tomography (cCT) included study. Patient data analyzed according gender, age groups, causes, hematological parameters hospitalization-discharge status. Results: 320 study, 169 female (52.8%), 142 65-74 group (%44). Intracranial was detected 34 falls traffic accidents. CT subdural hemorrhage. 76 (24%) hospitalized. As their final status, 307 discharged (96%), 6 transferred (1.9%), 7 died (2.2%). Conclusion: In there no significant correlation age, mechanism trauma, trauma. traumas must be evaluated seriously regardless injury, gender even simple can dangerous.
